Questions
Frequently asked questions
If your question isn’t here, message us — we answer on WhatsApp within the hour most days.
- Who can stay at Empire Stays?
- We are a premium PG for women and families. Alongside long-term residents we also take short-stay guests — for example families here for a wedding, or someone staying nearby while a relative is treated at Saveetha Dental College and Hospital or Aravind Eye Hospital.
- What does it cost?
- Rent depends on the room type and how long you are staying, and there is a separate security deposit. Charges cover rent, food, maintenance and electricity (EB), which is billed separately from rent. Call or WhatsApp us on 9025454448 and we will give you exact figures.
- What room types are available?
- Single occupancy, double sharing and triple sharing. Some rooms are air-conditioned and some have an attached bathroom — ask us what is free when you call.
- Is food included?
- Yes. Three meals a day are served on site — morning tiffin, lunch and dinner. Timings are notified in the dining area.
- What is provided in the room?
- A cot, mattress, bed cover, pillow and pillow cover, plus storage. These stay in your care during your stay and are returned clean and in good condition when you leave.
- How does the security deposit work?
- A deposit is collected at move-in and refunded when you leave, after dues are cleared and less the cost of any damage or missing property. Normal wear and tear is not treated as damage. A minimum stay of two months applies, and that is negotiable — please discuss it with us.
- Can I have visitors?
- Yes, during visiting hours. Please call or message us on WhatsApp at least one day in advance to register your visitor’s number. Visitors sign in at reception and are received in the common areas. Nobody may stay overnight without prior permission.
- Is the building secure?
- CCTV covers the entrance, corridors and common areas — never bedrooms, bathrooms or changing areas. Access is controlled, keys and access cards are issued to residents only, and a lost card must be reported immediately.
- Are there quiet hours?
- Yes, 10 PM to 6 AM. Loud music, parties and anything that disturbs other residents are not permitted at any hour.
- Is there parking?
- Two-wheeler parking is available in the designated area, subject to the house parking rules.
- What documents do I need to move in?
- A valid government photo ID, your college or company ID, and your parent or guardian’s contact number. We verify documents at check-in.
- How much notice do I give before leaving?
- Written notice is required, and the notice period is agreed with management when you join. All dues must be cleared and keys, access cards and PG property returned at check-out.
- Is Empire Stays only for women?
- Empire Stays is for women and families — every room, floor and shared space is set up with them in mind.
- Do you take short-term stays, or only long-term residents?
- Both. Alongside long-term residents, we take short-stay guests — for example families here for a wedding, or someone staying nearby while a relative is treated at Saveetha Dental College and Hospital or Aravind Eye Hospital. Call or WhatsApp us to check what is free.
- Is the booking fee refundable?
- The booking fee confirms your bed and is non-refundable if you decide not to move in. If we are unable to give you the bed you paid for, you are refunded in full.
- Are pets allowed?
- Pets require prior written permission from management before they can stay with you.
- How do I book a room or ask a question?
- You can book directly on our rooms page, or call or WhatsApp us on 9025454448 — we answer most days within the hour.
Still deciding?
Come and see a room. Bring your parents if that helps — most people do, and we would rather you asked everything in person than guessed from photos.
